Euler Number
The Euler number is one of the most important mathematical constants. It plays a central role in differential and integral calculus, and thus in application-oriented mathematics, for example in growth and decay processes. The number is named after the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler - as well as the Euler lecture, which takes place in Potsdam on May 4th.
